About Me

Have you wondered why you’re here? What you’re meant to do?

I have.

Many times.

For years, I sought acceptance from other people, things outside of me and society in general. Having children provided me with an opportunity to change my mindset about acceptance.

We both know that tasks with kids take two or three times longer than without them. If it used to take thirty minutes to grocery shop, it now takes an hour. Add a tantrum or two, for good measure. It is frustrating and yet, it can be an opportunity for growth and reflection. It is possible to enjoy and laugh in these times now, if we allow ourselves to be in the present moment.

By discovering my values and exploring life’s meaning for me, I realised I was already doing what I loved. (Family is my number one value). Gratefulness flowed inside of me and happiness filled my heart. Nurturing self-love and self-care bounded into my life in a way that I had not imagined possible.

I can count on my inner wisdom to support me to make sound decisions and choices.

I am anchored while creating a life I love.

How you live your life each day, is how you live your life

My Story

‘To be a great mum and loving wife’, my first mission statement declared. To achieve this, I prioritised activities each day which would ensure that I was a great mum and loving wife. My husband’s jaw dropped when I made his lunch for the first time in years. His tight squeeze and smiling eyes let me know I was on the right track. I was feeling lighter, more purposeful and happy.

While I was blissfully taking care of everyone else, I was neglecting myself. The realisation struck me like a lightning bolt as I stared open mouthed at a photograph taken of me on my 38th birthday. I looked young, smiling, but I was wearing all black, and I was out of shape. What struck me most was the gap between what others saw and what I felt inside. It spurred me into action. I wanted my body to be as fit and healthy as it felt on the inside. Another goal: By my 40th birthday I will be fit and there will be lines in my arms. (I think I meant toned…)

Determined to be a great role model, an inspiration to my two children, I was going teach them the importance of exercise by example. I climbed to the top of the mountainous washing pile and declared to my family that I was going to exercise. My intention was clear and I requested support to overcome my ‘obstacles’.

Enter in new mindset.

This behaviour was infectious, spreading into my part-time career and my friendships. Space and time stretched out before me. I was capable and ready for more.

I came across an article about life coaching in a Lorna Jane magazine. As I read the words, my heart raced, my breath quickened, my belly tingled and my brain buzzed. A fire inside of me was stoked and it was igniting my soul. This was it!! Life Coaching combined not only my strengths, loves and talents but it also included my biggest contribution to my community. I was exhilarated.
